Lucinda Bella Bean May 1997 – January 2009
My dear, sweet Lucy passed away on Saturday, January 17th at 5:12am. Lucy was a shy kitty, so many people didn't get to know her the way I did. She was a wonderful, sweet little cat who was full of life and the will to live. She loved to play, and she especially loved to wiggle and purr when she was happy. Her purr was so loud and strong that it usually sounded like she was singing -- sometimes it sounded like she was giggling. She was also the chattiest cat I've ever met and sometimes she kept me awake at night talking, but I never minded, because her company was worth the lack of sleep. She was extremely preceptive so she always knew what sort of mood I was in, and she always comforted me when I felt blue. She was with me for eleven and a half years and saw me through many ups and downs.
Four years ago Lucy was diagnosed with kidney disease and I was told she only had 3 months left to live by not one, but two vets. She proved them both wrong and stayed strong, despite her illness. Her vet said she was truly a miracle kitty, and he said he's never seen a cat with such advanced kidney disease live as long and stay as healthy as she did. It wasn't until two weeks ago that the disease finally began to take it's toll on her little body, and she passed away peacefully.
Lucy was a wonderful friend and she will always be missed.
